What we collect
How much we collect depends on how you use Vow.
- Waitlist: your first name, email address, and optionally your wedding date.
- Account: your name and email, with login credentials managed securely through our authentication provider.
- Your wedding profile: the details you share during onboarding and in settings — partners' names, wedding date, venue, estimated guest count, budget, aesthetic and color preferences, priorities, and planning preferences.
- Your guest list: the names and any contact details (email, phone, address), dietary notes, meal choices, and RSVP status you record for your guests.
- Your planning data: tasks, budget line items and payments, saved vendors, and the moodboard images or links you upload or save.
- Your conversations: your chat history with Vow's AI assistant.
- Files you upload: vendor contracts you add, and details extracted from them to populate your budget and vendor records.
- Gmail connection (only if you connect it): a secure token that lets Vow send email from your account when you explicitly choose to.
How we use it
We use your information to personalize your planning experience, power the AI assistant with the specifics of your wedding, send transactional emails (like collaborator invites and confirmations) and any product updates you've opted into, and keep the app running. We do not sell your data to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.
AI features
To give you personalized planning help, Vow sends relevant details about your wedding to Anthropic, the provider that powers our AI assistant. Anthropic does not use information sent through its API to train its models. We send only what's needed to answer your request.
Gmail and Google user data
If you choose to connect Gmail, Vow requests permission only to send email on your behalf. We never read, search, or store the contents of your inbox, and an email is only ever sent after you review the draft and explicitly press Send. Vow's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements — your Gmail data is used solely to provide this feature and is never sold, transferred, or used for advertising. You can disconnect Gmail at any time in Settings.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase (database and file storage) on AWS infrastructure, protected by row-level security so that each account can only access its own data. Uploaded contracts and images are kept in access-controlled storage. We retain your data until you request deletion or Vow ceases operations.
Third-party services
We rely on Supabase (database, authentication, and storage), Vercel (hosting and anonymous, aggregate usage analytics), Resend (transactional email), Anthropic (AI features), Google (Gmail sending, only if you connect it), and Sentry (error monitoring, which may include your account identifier to help us diagnose issues you report). Each has its own privacy policy governing how it handles infrastructure-level data.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us. We will respond within 30 days.
